A new podcast research dubbed “Brand Lift Studies” shows a dramatic rise in product awareness, perception and other advertising metrics. According to an article featured in PRNewswire on February 9 2017, the advertising test attracted five national consumer brands and five different products and service categories.
According to Forbes, prominent personalities who graced the event included Norman Pattiz, the Executive Chairman of PodcastOne and Tom Webster, the VP of Strategy at Edison Research.
During the unveiling, it was noted that this was the first pre and post-campaign brand lift study targeting podcast advertisers. The study was carried out in the first half of 2016.
The findings revealed that podcast advertising had taken a positive leap on parameters like brand recall, recall of itemized messaging and intent to purpose.
The notable things include revelations that 60% of listeners chose a specific grocery brand during the post campaign, a significant 6% rise from that of pre-study listeners. Secondly, there was a 47% rise in unaided product awareness from pre-study to post-study as evidenced in the financial services product. It was also revealed that the awareness of a targeted campaign messaging for automobile aftermarket product rose by 60% from pre-study to post-study while that of casual dining restaurant rose by a significant 76%.
Elsewhere up to one-third of the respondents in the post-study said they had a favorable opinion of automobile aftermarket product, from 18% recorded in the pre-study. In the post-study, the number of respondents who said they were likely to consider using lawn and garden product stood at 22%, a 16% rise from the pre-study figures.
